Sandra Schmedemann
After completing her vocational training as a ceramist with a "Meister" certificate (master craftsman), Sandra Schmedemann studied ceramics and glass design at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle. In 2009 she graduated with a Diploma. Today, she is an independent ceramist and designer with her own studio in Rostock, Germany and she is a member of artquarium, an artists' co-operative gallery.

"I am searching for reduced, organic designs that break with traditions through small, playful details. Depending on the project, I am working with casting and/or throwing techniques. The particular production method plays a part in the design of the vessel's outline."
