Fairy tales by Katharina Sieg
"I create worlds in which I would love to step in myself and where amazing things are waiting to be discovered also off the beaten path", says illustrator Katharina Sieg, who has reinterpreted four popular fairy tales for KAHLA in a modern way.
Cups, flat and deep plates retell the stories of the Brothers Grimm, a little bit tongue-in-cheek and with many eye-catching details. The fairy tale motifs are designed so that they can easily be combined with each other. The Sleeping Beauty cup for example also matches the Snow White plate. Each child will quickly find their favourite cup, bowl or plate on the table and will be excited about a colourful and happy start into the day.
Katharina Sieg, born 1982, studied illustration at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, where she currently lives and works as an independent illustrator. At her drawing table, she creates multi-faceted visual worlds. Her work includes numerous children's books. One of them, "The Night of the Elephant", was recently recognised as one of the 25 most beautiful German books of 2017 by the Book Art Foundation.
MAGIC GRIP Kids Sets
KAHLA Kids Sets are available with the innovative MAGIC GRIP - a porcelain with an integrated silicone application at the foot. No slipping. No scratching.
No clattering.
It is not only children who are excited about the MAGIC GRIP children sets, but also parents and grandparents. Setting the table becomes a family ritual: kids help just like the grown-ups because the tableware can also be on a slope and does not slip when stacked unevenly. During dinnertime, the porcelain items do not need to be held in place, even at tumultuous times.
